About Martha Abbey Miller:
Though proud to call Westlake Village, California, home, Martha grew up in Minneapolis. A liberal arts degree from the University of Minnesota and an MBA from Avila University in Kansas City, Missouri, set the foundation for her successful career as a communications manager of global companies such as Hewlett-Packard. Martha retired in 2007 to devote her energies to writing, church, and community. Along the way, she more or less invented, accidentally, a second career as a dramatist.
Martha researches, writes, and performs one-woman shows, giving audiences a unique look at fascinating historical figures. Last year, she began her first book, the biography of Frances Landers, who left an incalculable legacy, ending illiteracy for thousands of children in the mountains of Haiti. As she performs her shows and writes her book, Martha increasingly is being asked to be a motivational speaker, helping others find - or rediscover - their passions.
Martha fills her time by volunteering at the local library, leading a weekly mentoring group for middle school girls, and doing mission work locally and in Haiti.
Above all, Martha delights in blending her passions and perspectives to enrich the lives of others.
